“Dialogue of Civilizations and Cross-cultural Cooperation” is a cycle of annual seminars aiming to analyze the regulatory framework and international practice for the development of international and intercultural education; exchange of innovative experience and practices between Moscow, Russian regions and foreign countries in providing equal access to educational services in preschool, school and complementary education as well as lifelong education. The Project acts as an international laboratory by rendering academic and methodological support to a network of international educational centres and programmes. Over 700 people from 42 countries and 23 Russian regions took part in the seminars since their inception in 2009.
Organizers: Moscow City Department of Education, UNESCO Moscow Office, Moscow Institute of Open Education (MIOO).
Executing Organizations: UNESCO Chair and Centre for International Educational Programmes (MIOO), Non-profit Organization Centre for Cross-cultural Education “Etnosfera” in cooperation with UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) and Twinning and University Networks program (UNITWIN/UNESCO).
Venue: Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad.
Large Conference Hall on the 4th floor.
Participants: international experts and specialists – representatives of education authorities and institutions of Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation, representatives of Partner UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN/UNESCO institutes, participants of UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet). We have also invited representatives of UNHCR, IOM, Council of Europe, EurAsEC, other international and non-governmental organizations.
The objective: to analyze international concepts and legal frameworks of cultural diversity, human rights and pluralism of opinions within globalization as well as associated challenges; to discuss contemporary understanding of cross-cultural dialogue and its manifestation in the unified educational environment; to transfer innovative experiences and practices of Moscow, regions of the Russian Federation, foreign countries in ensuring equal access to education services and creating conflict-free educational environment.
