Moscow International Conference 2013

“Dialogue of Civilizations and Cross-cultural Cooperation” is a cycle of annual seminars aiming to analyze the regulatory framework and international practice for the development of international and intercultural education; exchange of innovative experience and practices between Moscow, Russian regions and foreign countries in providing equal access to educational services in preschool, school and complementary education as well as lifelong education. The Project acts as an international laboratory by rendering academic and methodological support to a network of international educational centres and programmes. Over 800 people from 44 countries and 25 Russian regions took part in the seminars since its launch in 2009.

Participants: International experts and specialists – representatives of education authorities and institutions of Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation, representatives of Partner UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN/UNESCO institutes, participants of UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet) and UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre. We have also invited representatives of OSCE, UNHCR, IOM, Council of Europe, and other international and non-governmental organizations.

Objective: to analyze international concepts and legal frameworks of cross-cultural education as part of sustainable development; to discuss contemporary understanding of cross-cultural dialogue and its manifestation in unified information and educational environment when transiting from information to knowledge society; to transfer innovative experiences and practices of Moscow, regions of the Russian Federation, foreign countries in ensuring equal access to education services and development of inclusive knowledge society.

Working languages: Russian and English

Speech time limit: 10 minutes per speaker at the Plenary Session, 7 minutes at Sections.
